5 Signs it's Time to Rebrand Your Business

Knowing when it is time to rebrand can be a challenge. Branding is vital to your business because it impresses a feeling people have about you and your work. If your business isn't thriving it may be a good time to rebrand. Spend a little time researching your competitors and what overall style seems to be working for them before you approach a professional to help you with your project.

Here are five things to think about when you are considering a rebrand for your small business:

1 - Are you attracting the customers you want?

Has your target audience changed? If your product/service has evolved it's likely your customers have, too. Changing your image to suit your updated business with consideration to who you want to sell to can have an impact on your bottom line. Rebranding helps you attract new customers.

2 - Does your logo date your business?

Old artwork, fonts, and colors can leave the impression you only cater to specific ages. This also associated you with old and cheap products or services. This damages trust in your business and deters new clients. Many businesses rebrand to draw in new groups of consumers. Here are several examples of company rebrands over the years:

3 - Does your brand reflect who you are now?

If your company has evolved over time, such as adding co-owners, expanding locations, or upgrading your offerings, etc, then it really is time to rebrand. The goal of all businesses is to grow and develop, so these changes are a good sign. Some of your past clients may not return, but opening up to new clients with a rebrand will make up for the loss.

4 - Have you been inconsistent with your branding?

There are a lot of working pieces to an effective brand, and, over time, parts can be overlooked. Company branding hasn't been updated accurately across all of your social media, or marketing materials, etc. This denotes a lack of excitement in your own brand which tells your clients that you are not fully invested. Rebranding infuses you with the excitement to share your business with new people.

5 - Is your brand generic?

Is your business mistaken for a competitor? Or is there confusion about what industry you're in? Part of re-branding is making changes in your design, in your content marketing strategies, and in your presence on social media – all of these should showcase your brand as unique.

Are you noticing a need to rebrand your company to represent what you have become and attract more people? Your company logo/brand needs to reflect, encompass, and embrace the ways it has developed over the years.

Is it Time to Rebrand?

If you're considering a rebrand, then the odds are good that you need one. Your branding should represent what your company does, who your ideal clients are, and what you promise to deliver them. Fresh content, an updated logo, refocused social media, and elements of fun will reinvigorate your business for the future.
